Zingaro Natural Reserve
RISERVA DELLO ZINGARO: (KM 35 far from Trapani)
Between San Vito Lo Capo and Castellammare del Golfo the hill that slopes down to the sea, a multitude of small bays, announce the start of Zingaro Natural Reserve. It covers an area of 1650 hectares, a coastal strip of about 7 km, formed by a rocky coast of limestones of Mesozoico, podsejani numerous coves and cliffs standing that the height of 913 meters. Lead quickly to the sea. Small paths appropriately designed by cliffs, which end in the sea or climb the mountains, giving a crossing of the most intact of the Mediterranean. In this area nest dozens of species of birds including the peregrine falcon, Bonelli eagle, sheppi, royal nibbi and other birds included in the red list of endangered species, in an environment rich in endemic and rare plants that make reserve an oasis of biodiversity. Symbol of the reserve is the dwarf palm, which grows spontaneously.
